Adidas Creates a Pop-Up Shop in London

(Cubify) London Pop Ups are always fun and unusual. Adidas Originals put a 3D printed spin on a Stan Smith pop-up shop to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world’s bestselling trainer shoe. The pop up was set in London at the Old Truman Brewery. In the middle of the brewery, a giant shoebox held an interactive store and a 3D printing experience inside. The pop up was a scale replica of an Adidas Stan Smith shoebox. Customers entered through the side of the shoebox. The store featured “an interactive floor, a digital ‘Stan Yourself’ station, and a 3D printing post” that allowed consumers to take part in an interactive experience and customize their lace locks using 3D printing. 3D Systems Cube printers lined the walls and were operating live in the store.

Tiny Miracles: 3D Printed Custom Made Jewelry with Morpheus

Gone are the days when a precious piece of jewelry could only be found by scouring shop shelves. Want to design the ring of your dreams or replace a favorite pair of earrings? Morpheus, a new online platform for jewelry design, offers an easy way to create just that little bit of magic.

Morpheus

The secret, of course, is 3D printing – and an international network of designers and master jewelers hailing from the likes of the Tyler School of Art (Philadelphia, USA), Edinburgh College of Art (Scotland, UK), Accademia di Brera (Milan, Italy), Rhode Island School of Design and Providence (Rhode Island, USA) ) and Shenkar design school in Israel. The process itself is simple. Sign in to Morpheus, upload at least one photo of the desired item, make sure the virtual model is exactly what you’re after and it’ll be sent to us to be printed in gold, silver or another precious metal.

Applications are as varied as your imagination. “I wanted to surprise my wife with a special gift for her birthday, with the earrings from the movie Gladiator, but couldn’t find them,” one customer recalled. “I uploaded pictures from the film and had them recreated. It’s like magic – I got the earrings in three weeks, just in time for her birthday. My wife was overjoyed!”

The team at Morpheus will also take care of post-production work such as the setting of gemstones and offer a handy range of size guides to make sure you get the perfect fit.
